Using HTML and embed codes in a Joomla editor

There might be times where you'll need to add or edit some html or embed a Youtube video or some other embed code in one of your Joomla webpages or articles.

You can not add any html right into the article editor. It WILL NOT WORK. You need to add it in the html of the site using the html edit icon or link. Joomla has a few different content editors that can be used and each have their own html edit icon.

TinyMCE

The default editor is TinyMCE, so we will start with that. There is an html edit button which will open an html editor popup window. Type your html or embed codes there. See image below

JCE Editor

JCE is the best Joomla editor in my opinion. I install it on every Joomla site. Instead of an html button, you can toggle editor and html edit view. Place your html or embed code in the html edit view

WYSIWYG

The WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get editor also has a popup html editor but the icon looks different. See image below.

If your editor is not above, don't worry, chances are it will use one of these methods above to get the html editor. If not, just look around, you'll find it
