Google is replacing and merging "Google Checkout" with the new "Google Wallet" app. Google Wallet product manager, Ben Lee, stated, “We’re committed to upgrading our payment solutions for merchants while ensuring they’re able to process payments without interruption during the holidays — so shoppers using Google Wallet will be able to make purchases seamlessly on merchant sites that accept Google Checkout.”

Shoppers will be able to make purchases with there Google Wallet username and password to any merchant that accepts Google Checkout/Google Wallet. No credit card or address information needed, which is extremely convenient. Starting today, users can add a Citi MasterCard to the Google Wallet mobile application, which will also be available for use when you show with Google Wallet online. If you are currently accepting "Google Checkout" payments, you will be prompted the next time that you login to automatically merge your account with Google Wallet. The transition is quite simple.

Thanks for the very well written article.I read the full story, it reminds me of the professional athletes who think the job (and money) will always be there.Including a wallet can hold a user's payment information, a digital certificate to identify the user, and shipping information to speed transactions.
